K-12 Leq’á:mel administers funding from the Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) for public school students who are on our Nominal Roll. We offer many services and supports for our K-12 Students which include: School support funds Student monthly and yearly incentives Student fees and supplies Tutoring Community educational workshops Extra-curricular programs Student Identifiers will be due on July 1st of every year to receive school support funds by August 15th. Any student identifiers received after the due date will be processed at our discretion. Student Identifier Form Post Secondary Our goal is to encourage and sponsor students to achieve success in post-secondary studies to increase their job opportunities. The Post-Secondary Program is to assist students with the financial costs of attending post-secondary, facilitate the post-secondary funding based on the Policies and Guidelines and to support and recognize those students who are successful. We believe in our youth and the betterment of our people. Some basic specifics for eligibility to apply for post-secondary funds are: You must be a member of Leq’á:mel First Nation. You must be a registered Indian. Be accepted by an eligible post-secondary institution. Be accepted into an eligible program of study (i.e. certificate, diploma, degree, or University College Entrance Preparation (UCEP). Maintain continued academic standing with the institution. Please ensure to send in all pertinent information with your PS Application, to have your application reviewed. Post-Secondary Applications are due back May 1st. Supports for post-secondary include: Basic tuition fees Registration fees Professional certification Examination fees Cost of books and supplies Living allowances Post Secondary Funding Application Occupational Skills Training The Leq’á:mel First Nation provides support to Leq’á:mel First Nation members who wish to pursue short term education programs or courses which will make them job ready in short periods of time (one year or less).
