Salary: $70,000 – $89,000 annually (depending on experience)
Leq’á:mel First Nation (LFN) is seeking a compassionate, culturally grounded Family Support Worker to support children, youth, and LFN families, experiencing challenges or crisis situations. This role provides emotional support, advocacy, practical assistance, and cultural reconnection while helping families navigate child and family services, the courts, health care, schools, and other community agencies.
This role promotes family unity, cultural continuity, and community wellness through prevention-focused programming, service coordination, and collaborative relationships with Leq’á:mel First Nation departments, Delegated Band Representatives, other Nations, MCFD, Xyólheméylh, and the Family Court system.
Working closely with families, extended family members, Elders, cultural teachers, educators, health care providers, and social service partners, the Family Support Worker delivers holistic, culturally informed support that strengthens family connections, builds cultural identity, and helps reduce risks that may contribute to child apprehension.
